The Lay of the Land

Four cabins, one pond,
creeks all around.

All four cabins share one gated 30-acre property off Polk Rd 602. Sunset and Nightfall sit by the bass pond, Stargazing is tucked away on a hilltop, and Creekside faces Sugar Creek, just inside the gate. Small creeks wind through the rest of the property. Tap the map to enlarge.

When to Come

Fall · Oct–Nov
Peak color in the hardwoods from late October into November. Cool mornings, clear nights, and Wolf Pen Gap open through October 31.
Spring · Creeks & waterfalls
Creeks run full and Little Missouri Falls is at its loudest. Wolf Pen Gap reopens the first Friday of March.
Summer · Swimming holes & stars
Cool off in the creek and the swimming holes, then stay up for the Milky Way. Riding all season long.
Winter · The quiet season
Fireplaces, empty trails, and two holiday riding windows at Wolf Pen Gap. The quietest the forest gets all year.
Wolf Pen Gap riding season (USFS)Open from the first Friday of March through October 31. Reopens 3 days before through 2 days after Thanksgiving, and December 22 to January 2. Closes temporarily after heavy rain — dates depend on weather. No fee, no permit. No riding between sunset and sunrise. Status: Mena-Oden Ranger District, 479-394-2382.
WildlifeDeer, turkey, and the occasional black bear call this forest home — one has been photographed on the property. Keep food and coolers in your vehicle overnight, and never feed the wildlife.

Arborium is a family business. Simão and his daughter Lara run it together, with help from a small local team who keep the cabins ready between stays. We're a Texas family who love the outdoors — riding, fishing, and evenings on the porch — and we bought these cabins to share them with people who love the same things.

When you message, one of us answers — usually within the hour. Lara handles most of the bookings and guest questions; she's in high school and runs this side of the business herself. Two years of hosting, one standard: the cabin you arrive at is the cabin you saw.
